Mission Statement / Vision

To significantly improve the lives of Children in Cherry Orchard who have varying social, physical, emotional, intellectual and behavioural needs through early intervention and a combined approach of education and care, in partnership with parents, families the local community and other relevant service providers, in order to break the cycle of disadvantage.

Aims / Goals

1. To provide an integrated pre-school, Primary School and out of school care service for children of Cherry Orchard that will support the meeting of  their social, emotional, physical, educational and spiritual needs within their families and community.

2. To maintain and build working partnerships with the parents, families, the community and other service providers (community, voluntary and statutory) in the local area.

3. Through pioneering a new integrated model of provision to contribute to the broader learning of the education system in Ireland and disseminate the learning to local and national stakeholders, policy makers and participators.

4. To build the capacity of St. Ultan’s so as to achieve its mission to sustain, promote and evidence the outcomes of the St. Ultan’s Integrated Model, by securing and using resources to improve the capacities of staff, managers, directors and the Board. 

Key  Objectives and Resources Required 

Aim 1: To provide an integrated pre-school, Primary School and out of school care service for children of Cherry Orchard that will support the meeting of their emotional, physical and spiritual needs within their families and community.

a. To provide a high quality School Curriculum that is innovative and accessible for the local children

b. To provide a range of School extra-curricular activities to the children for their physical, educational and emotional well-being

c.  To provide a high quality, accessible and supportive out-of-school Care Service for children (and their families)

d. To provide a range of specific integrated cross-Campus initiatives / programmes to meet the complex needs of the children

Aim 2: To maintain and build working partnership with the parents, families, the community (Campus Family Community Partnership) and other service providers (community, voluntary and statutory) in the local area. 

a. To maintain and build  close working partnerships with families and parents as a way to combat inter-generational disadvantage 

b. To maintain and build working partnerships with the local community and community groups to promote education and care

c.  To maintain and build collaborative working relationships with other community, voluntary and Statutory networks and Agencies (to tackle the issues of social marginalisation)

Aim 3: Through pioneering a new integrated model of provision to contribute to the broader learning of the education system in Ireland and disseminate the learning to local and national stakeholders, policy makers and participators.

a. Continue to develop measurement systems

b. To secure an independent review of what St. Ultan’s needs for a sustainable project

c.  To secure participation in any new initiative / status that may evolve regarding Education and Social Exclusion

d. To maintain and develop working relationships with partners and like-minded organisations

e.  To maintain and develop working and reporting relationships with funders / Government Departments

Aim 4: To build the capacity of St. Ultan’s so as to achieve its mission to sustain, promote and evidence the outcomes of the St. Ultan’s Integrated Model, by securing and using resources to improve the capacities of staff, managers, directors and the Board. 

a. Maintain and sustain the capacity of both Boards (St Ultans Primary School & St Ultans Childcare Project)

b. Maintain and sustain capacity of staff

c.  Continue to manage and guide the work of St. Ultan’s

d. Maintain and secure other resources (Friends of St. Ultan’s)

e. Maintain and develop Community Service Programme

f.  Promote more Integration at all levels across the Campus

g. Develop structures and systems for future development of St. Ultan’s Model
